car seats ratings

Best family car?
I’m looking for a used family car with the following features:
-around 10,000
-good gas mileage
-VERY good safety ratings
-roomy enough to seat 2 adults in front, and 2 car seats in back
-doesn’t require a ton of attention/maintence
-safe in snow
We already have an SUV but are looking to get a second car since our other one is beyond worth fixing. I’m really worried about the safety of cars, I’ve only owned SUV’s before, and I feel a lot safer in them rather a car, especially with my daughter in back. But my husband really would prefer a car since we can get better gas mileage and probably find one a little cheaper than an SUV. So keep that in mind as well, I really want to feel safe in this car!
Any ideas? Thanks!!
Small Car ? Mid Size ?
I like the Mazda 5 and the Ford Focus WAGON for a 2nd car
I bought a Ztec 2002 Focus wagon gets 28/35mpg when my wife drives it and I hot rod it around and still get 25 mpg… paid 7000 with 35000 miles in 2004
But with 10K you can shop all day of a good car…. lets see what I can find… under 75,000 miles..
Safe ! 1998 Mercedes-Benz C230 Sedan or C280
found 1 near me for 8995 with 51K miles
Pontiac Montana (mini van) 2003 33K miles for 10950 near
2005 Toyota Camry LE ((2003 2004 under 40K miles) 10995
Off the wall ? still better fuel mileage than some SUV’s but one of the safest cars 2002 Cadillac Seville SLS or STS under 60K miles 10500.00
Brand New PT cruiser 12800.00 (( test drive 1st with putting childs seats in rear ))

Not so long ago, hybrid cars were bought in relatively small numbers, largely by those who didn’t mind spending that bit extra on a slightly odd-looking car which proved to all and sundry that they weren’t just environmentally aware, but environmentally committed.
