Help for a step-granny!?

I’m a step-granny of a 7month old boy. He’s coming to stay next weekend – overnight with parents, but during the day with us!! Help!!!!!!
I’ve got a travel cot – do I need a bottom sheet? I bought it unused from a Charity shop, so my thoughts are probably yes, more for parental preference as it’s not brand new, although it hasn’t been used as far as I could see.
He sleeps in a sleeping bag thing, so I don’t think he needs blankets, or does he? It may be May, but it’s gone a bit chillier – do I need to raise the house heating, and to what temp?
I’m going to invest in a Beanstalk high chair as that suits 6months-3 years, so we should get reasonable use from that.
What do you do with a baby during the day!!!?
I don’t expect we’ll have the car seat, so a trip in the buggy to the park or shops is probably a sensible option.
All advice very gratefully received. Never having had my own children, this is going to be a bit of a steep learning curve!!!
Thanks

speak to his parents.they will tell you what they usually do.you will be fine, good luck.

10 Tips On Carrying Dogs Safely In Cars

Most of us treat our dogs like our own babies that need to be handled with care. Some people purchase pet insurance for their pets just to ensure that they are fully covered in case something bad happens.

If you like to take your dog with you when you travel, then it is important for you to know the proper way of carrying your dogs safely.

Below are the top ten tips you should follow:

  1. Always keep the leash of your dog securely in hand during loading and unloading of your dog from the car.

  2. Feed your dog at least two hours before the trip and just give him chew toys for the entire trip to keep him entertained.

  3. For safety, just like kids, don’t allow your dog to stay in the front seat regardless how much he enjoys it, since pets riding in front seat can be thrown into the windshield if you make a sudden stop.

  4. Bring a water supply for your dog because they don’t sweat to regulate their body temperature like we do. Water will keep them cool and hydrated all the time.

  5. Never, ever leave your dog in a parked vehicle as the interior temperature can rise much higher than the outside temperature. As a result, your dog can suffer heat stroke within minutes.

  6. Dog cages are a perfect way to control your pet during the entire trip. Stressed pets need some quiet time alone for them to rest.

  7. If you’re using a dog crate, choose one that is of perfect size for your dog and can be easily fitted inside the car to ensure his safety. There are dog crates available that are customised for your car such as sloping dog crates ideal for hatchbacks. Make sure it is securely placed either on the floor or between seats.

  8. Keep a current I.D. tag on your dog at all times in case your pet manages to escape. The I.D. must include an easily accessible number like your cell phone number.

  9. For longer trips, make sure that you stop once in a while preferably somewhere grassy and relatively quiet. Take him for a walk so he can release some of his excess energy.

  10. Consult your vet if your dog shows some signs of car sickness to know the appropriate medication you can give him.
