Does anyone know where people with low income can get supplies for a new baby?
I’m 36 weeks pregnant as of tomorrow with a baby girl 
.
I have not been able to work since june because of pregnancy complications and my other half only works part time right now because he is still in collage and I refuse to let him quit because I’d rather he finish and make $12 – $14 per hour starting full time later than $8 – $8.50 starting full time now, people have said he should quit but i bed to differ :p maybe that’s just me though.
But the fact is, after rent, power and groceries we haven’t been able to afford to buy the things we need to get set up for our daughter. She will be here in about 4 weeks and all we have is pack-n-play with a built in bassinet, a few onsies and receiving blankets, a car seat and some little socks and 2 baby blankets.
Does anyone know where I can go to get the things we need without having to pay a lot? Baby stuff costs a lot more than I remember from 6 years ago lol.
Craigslist is a good place to start you find alot of things people are getting rid of at garage sale prices. There is a group called freecycle where people are getting rid of things they no longer need and it is 100% free. Hence the name freecycle, the point of the group is to keep things out of landfills. I have gotten alot of hand me down clothes from there because people would rather see it go to a family that needs it and cant afford anything then send it to good will where you have to pay. Do a yahoo search for freecycle, I know for my area it is a yahoo group. Also contact a planned parenthood, they should be able to help you find groups that help out low income people. Contact your county health deptart, you can get set up with WIC cause it sounds like you will need help with baby food and formula if you choose to go that route. Check out www.Onceuponachild.com and see if there is a store in your area, its all slightly used childrens things. Sign up at www.pampers.com, www.huggies.com www.gerber.com those are just a few of the babysites, You could get put on a mailing list for coupons to help with costs as well.
