child car seat laws texas
Can my six year old ride in the front seat of my car as long as they are in a booster seat?

I live in Texas, where they just passed the booster seat law that says all children under 8, that are not at least 4′9 must be in a booster seat. My question is that, I have a small 2 door car and am pregnant with child number 3. I have a 6 and 5 year old. Once the baby is born, all three child seats will not fit in my back seat. I know they don’t recommend a child under 12 riding in the front seat, but I don’t have an air bag on the passenger side, so could I put my 6 year old in the front seat of the car as long as she’s in her booster seat?

Texas “recommends” that children under 12 ride in the back seat, but it is not illegal to have a younger child in the front seat as long as he/she is strapped into the correct booster or child seat.
