How do I remove HUMAN urine from a car seat?
My friend’s kid the other day decided to take a leak in the front seat of car. It’s an old car so the seats are fabric. I’ve cleaned the seat with soap and water multiple times and used air freshener such as Lysol and other products but there is still a noticeable odor of urine when anyone gets in the car, especially on hot days. It’s been a week and i am running out of ideas. Is there any industrial product or secret remedy to remove this catastrophe?
go down to the local pet store, find out what is a good quality product for removing pet stains from fabric or carpet. I would get a can of resolve foam carpet cleaner, (keeping in mind, you said it was an old car, If discolors the seat a bit, I would rather have a discolored seat, than a pissy seat. foam the seat, where the stain was, work in the foam, carefully and take your time, you want to get the area got and soaked with the chemicals in the can, after this, take a thick white towel (white lets you see what is wicking up into the towel, but enough towels, so that when you or your volunteer sit on the seat, it will soak into the towel, (also, the action of a dry towel, versus wet fabric, will wick the stink into the white towel, after sitting on the towel for a few minutes, put another dry towel down and sit on it. When no moisture comes up let it dry, and give it the smell test. In reality you do not have to use resolve, I like it because I have had good luck with it. but there are many good products that will break down the urine, the trick is to wick the stink into the dry towels, by sitting on it, do it more than once if you need to, but more than likely the first time will work pretty good good luck hope this helps, this works good on old pickups owned by old men who smell like old guys, who never take showers for 15 years, then sell the truck with their special brand of STINK.!!
