baby car seat age

Until which age should a baby face the oposite side ont he car seat?
The infant seat is intended for children weighing less than 20 lbs. The child is cushioned by the seat on all sides. At this age, the child’s head is larger and heavier the rest of the body. The seat should be positioned facing the rear with the child firmly secured to the seat which is attached to the vehicle by the safety belt.
The safest position is in the middle of the back seat. Never place an infant seat in the front seat if the vehicle is equipped with a passenger-side air bag.
This seat should be used until the infant is at least 20 lbs. After 20 lbs. a toddler seat should be used until the child reaches 40 lbs.
