booster car seat weights

when can i transition from a car seat to a booster seat?
my daughter is 7 months old and we are thinking about buying a booster seat but i dont know if it’’s good for her at this age. she weights almost 25 pounds and is about to turn 7 months.
she is fitting kind of tight in her car seat when i strap her in. can anyone help. give me advice or give me a link where i can read about this.
Ir Rose…no offense but u have no right to call my daughter fat. i dont know who the hell u think you are but you would not like if someone called ur child fat. maybe next time you wanna answer a question on this freaking site think about what the HELL YOU ARE GOING TO SAY.
and another thing B**** u can take ur answer go 2 hell.
I’m wondering if you may mean a *convertable* seat. She’s right at the age/size to be outgrowing her infant seat and going to a convertable. Convertable seats can rear face till she is up to 35 pounds and then forward face… all with a 5 point harness.
As others have said she is far, *far* too young for a booster seat. Booster seats do not have a ‘5 point harness’…they use the *adult* seatbelt to hold the child in place. The harness is *much* safer in a crash… even adult race car drivers still use them! Experts recommend a *minimum* of 4 yrs and 40 pounds for a booster seat. ‘Best practice’ is to keep the child harnessed *as long as possible*.
Here is a *great* place to learn more about the different types of carseats and which type would be best for your child at various ages and sizes: http://www.cpsafety.com/default.aspx
I’d advise going there and read, read, reading the links on the left. If you get overwhelmed and have any specific questions you can feel free to email me. But really the short answer in carseats… every step ‘up’ the ladder is a step down in your child’s safety. You should wait as long as possible before turning her forward facing… giving up a harnessed seat… and moving her to an adult seatbelt alone.
Hope that helps!
