Car seat placement, who sits where?

Those of you that have more than 1 carseat in the car: How do you decide who sits behind the driver’s seat and who sits behind the passenger seat? I was about to move my 20 month’s carseat out of the middle and add the base for the baby’s carseat, but I don’t know who should sit behind me and who should sit on the other side? (I really REALLY hate the idea of them both sitting on the sides….I want them both in the middle!) I know this probably is a dumb question, but I’m really wondering what you all do!! Thanks!

Put the infant car seat where it is easiest for you to see the baby. The 2 year old can tell you if she or he needs something the infant can’t.
