baby car seat honda

Question about rear facing car seat?
I know they say that once you have one of those convertible car seats that you should keep your baby rear facing up until their recomendation of about 30 lbs or so…now, what about if the seat would be safer and more sturdy front facing? The seat right now, while install correctly, still had some wobble to it and stays put with a towel rolled up between the seat and the car seat. I have a Honda and the back seat is a little curved. The car seat we have is a Safety First Alpha Omega Elite.
So if it would be more stable front facing it would be safter to turn it around when he turns one right? He’s already surpassed 20 lbs.
Mocha I already stated that I was going to wait until he turned one… that’s in June. And he’s a big strong boy.
I have the same car seat and when I installed it, it was also kinda wobbly. My son is 7.5 months old and just over 20lbs. I ended up taking the base off of it (It says you can do that for smaller cars/airplanes etc) and rolled up a towel and put it underneath it. He’s still rear facing, it basically just reclined it a tad bit more, but it also made it a LOT more sturdy and less wobbly. Hope this helps!
Aaa Names Nine New Best Bet Family Cars
Motorists looking for new cars in the market are looking at different areas of a car in choosing the right one for them. Aside from fuel economy and safety, one of the aspects important in choosing a new car is how large the buyer’s family is.
A significant number of car buyers are looking for new vehicles because their families have outgrown their current vehicles. For families looking for new vehicles, it is important that they choose a car that will take care of all their family member’s needs.
The American Automobile Association (AAA) is helping families choose the right vehicle for them by naming the best family car out in the market. For the fifth year, the AAA announced their lineup of best family cars. The list consists of fifteen vehicles and nine of which are first timers on the list.
One of the nine new vehicles on the list is the Mercury Milan which is built around the same platform as the Ford Fusion. The Mercury Milan is equipped with a good number of safety features like antilock brakes, and air bags. It also offers cubbyholes where kids’ stuff can be stowed away. The Milan accompanies the Honda Accord and the Toyota Camry in the sedan segment of the best family cars according to the AAA.
The list also features three first timers in the crossover segment. The first is the Dodge Caliber which is equipped with kid-friendly features like the refrigerated beverage holder. It is also equipped with safety features which work to perfection like a Volvo master cylinder.
Another crossover to be picked by the AAA as one of the best family cars is the Ford Edge. While it looks like an SUV, the Edge sports a comfortable ride like a sedan plus it offers good amount of cargo space where kids’ sport gears can be stored.
The Toyota RAV4 is also a first timer on the list and its safety features are also kid-friendly.
In the SUV segment, three vehicles are chosen by the AAA – all of which are first timers on the list. The Chevy Tahoe with its cargos space and its quiet ride is a good choice for families who needs to carry around a lot of things on road trips. Plus the quiet engine during operation will not disturb a sleeping baby. The Honda CR-V offers smooth ride which makes it a good choice for families who goes on long road trips.
Another SUV to make the list is the Hyundai Santa Fe. The SUV from Hyundai offers good number of safety and comfort features at a reasonably low price which makes it a good choice for families.
Another first timer on the list is yet another Hyundai model – this time a minivan. The Hyundai Entourage has three rows of seating with adequate space provided for the driver and passengers. Safety features of the vehicle include antilock brake system and stability control. Since the vehicle is from Hyundai, you can pay considerably less than what you would normally pay for a minivan from other car manufacturers.
The ninth new vehicle on the list is the Volkswagen Rabbit with its full lineup of airbags and other safety features like ABS.
Gail Weinholzer, the Director of Public Affairs, has this to say about the selection: “Safety, convenience, and lasting value are especially important to parents shopping for a family vehicle. The vehicles on this year’s list provide the whole package – comfort, practicality and performance with options for every family size.”
