how long to remove clean and reinstall car carpet?
I have a 99 GMC Suburban and it was given to me by my grandfather, this truck has with stood 2 kids and 4 grand kids plus all of our friends, but there are a number of stains on the carpet, i was wanting to know the best way to get these out so i searched it here and found out it is best to remove everything and clean the carpet and pad then reinstall carpet but i need to know about how long is this going to take, and are there any pointers i need to know??? also cleaning leather seats??? and the carpet on the back of the seats? like the second row has footprints from people climbing into the third row how do i get these out? a carpet cleaning vacuum?? please help!!!
This is no big deal to clean the only thing that you will need is a lot patience…
The leather can be cleaned with a product called “Tuff Stuff” and you can get this at any Wal-Mart.
Removing all of the seats, anchors and moldings will take some time but it will be worth it if you want it completely cleaned.
Once the carpet has been removed you would be better off using a hot carpet cleaner to remove all of the deep dirt and stains and at the same time don’t try and clean the “JUT” padding under the carpet, just go out and buy some new padding because its pretty cheap to buy.
Cleaning the back of the seats you will use the same product as stated above and if it is very dirty then this will take several cleanings.
The total time will depend on how good you want it to look and you also need to remember to let it all dry completely before you reassembly it so plan on doing it on a weekend when the outside temperature is hot…

Bloomington, Il Car Dealers Say Mitsubishi Will Introduce Outlander Sport This Fall
Prepare the way for the Outlander Sport! The much anticipated Mitsubishi compact crossover finally has a name in the United States market. Known as the RVR in Japan and the ASX across the pond in Europe, we can now claim this down-sized Outlander CUV as the Outlander Sport. Bloomington, IL car dealers look forward to sharing this model with customers.
Docking stateside this fall, the Outlander Sport seats five and will be powered by a Lancer-derived 2.0-liter gasoline four cylinder engine with CVT gearbox. With a focus on fuel-economy it will contain an electronically controlled all-wheel drive. Target mpg numbers are 30 or better according to Mitsu engineers. Although foreign markets will see the introduction of a front-drive, six-speed manual model, it may not make it to North America.
Customers of Bloomington, IL car dealers will want to check out this novelty car when it hits showrooms. As far as its unique style, the Jet Fighter grille differs from the Lancer and Outlander with a heavier looking clip and blends into the sculpted bonnet. The rear of the vehicle has been lowered and the silhouette widened to improve aerodynamics.
Moving inside the sporty elegance focuses on sleek lines. A hooded meter cluster and padded instrument panel are sharp and silver accents flank the audio system. The shift lever is encircled by a chromed module reminiscent of a vintage motorcycle. With all the vehicles, modern and vintages, used to glean ideas for this new model, it seems it would be an unattractive Frankenstein on wheels. Instead, Mitsubishi has created a sleek blend of funky familiar and futuristic fab that will intrigue sports vehicle enthusiasts and charm those who must have a family car.
The interior color scheme is mostly monochromatic black, but the silver accents dress it up nicely. Multiple textures also add to the interior allure. Some markets will have an option of double-stitched leather and the safety devices may include: Super-HiD “Wide Vision” xenon headlights; Active Stability Control; ABS; Traction Control; Hill Start Assist system; Emergency Stop signal System; and seven airbags.
Other expected features the Outlander Sport will likely share with the ASX include adjustable rear back seats, rear armrest with ski slot and cupholder, easy-fold rear bench, split rear seat, convenience hooks and lighting and under floor tray. An enjoyable wide-open feel results from the panoramic glass roof, doubling as sun roof and moon roof and framed with “Moonlight” LED lighting. Power sunshade comes standard. A visit to a Mitsubishi Bloomington car dealership will give a better sense of these fun features.
Pricing has not been announced, but is expected to be lower than Outlander’s MSRP of $21,605 in order to compete with the likes of the Nissan Rogue and Hyundai Tucson. So much about this vehicle remains a mystery, but we don’t have long to wait before we can actually see one on the showroom floor.
