Coxsackie Virus and 5 month old?
I just got back from the pediatrician, because my little girl had a low-grade fever and alsohadn’tt been eating and not too many pee diapers today, and the doctor said she has Coxsackie A-16 Virus.
I read about it on the internet, and it is said that children get it from other kid’s, toys, utensils, fecal matter,… and so I am wondering how my little girl got this if she is NEVER around other children, and Idon’tt use those diaper changing tables at stores, does not use others utensils, and I keep her in the house all the time.
When we do go out, she is kept in her car-seat in the shopping cart,… and so I’m wondering if anyone else’s child has had this before, and how it is passed if my child is not around other children, in daycares,…..
Same here. My son is 22 months old and we had our second doc’s visit (yesterday and then today) and he was also diagnosed with it. I’m a stay at home mom, and although we do have playdates, the other kids are also at home with their moms. It’s viral, so she could have gotten it anywhere! Don’t stress over where she could have picked it up, because you’ll make yourself crazy. It could be off the bottom of the diaper bag and that touched something that touched a household item. You’ll never. The doc’s said our son had one of the most sever cases that they’ve seen. We’ve been giving im baths in Aveeno oatmeal solution and applying the Aveeno oatmeal cream to his body. Other than keeping any fever down with Tylenol/Motrin, you just have to wait it out. It will get better day by day – we’re already noticing it in our son. Good luck!

Used Dodge – Finding A Spacious Car
If you have a big family, then you are probably aware of all the difficulties and issues that come with all the kids, and the pets, and probably the accompanying literal baggage. You will know that certain seemingly innocuous events will require endless planning, and that you can never know exactly what course a day will go. You will understand the strange ability of children to get various body parts stuck in strange inaccessible holes or belongings (head through the fence posts, anyone?!), and that food that were liked the week before are probably hated this week. You will know all your times tables off by heart, and keep a spare lead in the car for when you forget the normal one.
As the consequent powerhouse of information and multitasking, therefore, it is bound to be incredibly annoying if you cant find a car that is able to keep up with you. All too many of the seemingly practical cars out there forget to add storage or other assumed obvious additions, whilst others look great in theory but drive somewhat like a tank. I also find that what looks like a great and practical car will be incredibly annoying and irritating as soon as you get it home to actually use it in the real world.
In situations like this I always advise people to try a car like a Dodge Journey. It may not be the sexiest car on the market, but it is one of the few that actually knows the sort of things you and your family will need. Also, they are cheap, which we all know is a really important factor when you are considering family finances and with all the costs a kid puts on your wallet, any savings are always going to be welcome. They are even cheaper, of course, if you buy from a used Dodge dealer rather than new the kids are just going to make a mess of it anyway so buying new doesnt really make any sense when you think about it!
I always recommend the Journey for a number of things. The flexibility of the seats is probably the biggest pull, as being able to rotate the seats and set up a little table is perfect for keeping the passengers entertained, rather than sat in restrictive and rather boring rows. This also makes room for the dog; although there is plentiful boot space if you would rather the canine friends went back there. The little features like the drinks cooler also make a difference, as lifes little luxuries can really help to take the pressure off on a long drive.
Of course, you dont want to just take my word for it. What you really need to do is have a look around one at a local dealership, and see how it drives. Dont just test drive it yourself ask the dealer to let you put the kids in the back so that you can feel if there is any drag that you wouldnt have otherwise noticed!
