How likely is a flea to transfer from one place to another?
My girlfriend found fleas in her bathroom yesterday. This evening we bought some raid and sprayed her bathroom, room, and roommates room [small-sized guest house]. We walked around and no more jumped on us.
The thing is, she road in my car to go buy the raid, and of course took her car to work and stuff. My car has leather seats and hers are upholstery. I sprayed my car a bit, but now I’m wondering if fleas will be in MY house now. Should we spray her car?
I wore fabric flip-flops too. I was stupid to not take any precautions. Should I be worried about my house becoming infested too now!? Am I being paranoid?!?!

Hey, you’ve never seen a college student’s dirty car before have you? =) I’ve got fast food, dust, books, papers, and a bunch of other crap in there. But I guess the “0 grams” transfat KFC will kill them too eh?
Yes, You are paranoid. Fleas are a pain but they do have certain traits you can count on. If they have a nice warm place to suck blood they don’t leave it for another that doesn’t. The fleas in your girlfriends house came in with something. Maybe someone’s pet or something as simple as a newspaper laying on the ground for a while. Your car doesn’t have a food source if they are there they will just die or go away. If you’re not itching don’t worry about it. A simple way to kill any eggs that may hatch later is to cut off a piece of a flea collar and put it in your vacuum cleaner. That creates a deadly place for them to hatch.
