Did my baby really just sit up?!?
My baby is 4.5 months old. We put the boppy pillow on top of a regular pillow and let her sit in it, because she likes to sit up like a big person and see what is going on. My husband was watching tv earlier and I had just gotten out of the shower and walked in the bedroom and she pulled herself into a sitting position and sat there for like 20 seconds until she fell over. I ran to get the camera but caught her just as she fell over, lol. I was so proud! Did she really sit up? She has been pulling her head forward in her car seat trying to sit up for a while now. Is there any way I can encourage her to sit up again or will she just figure it out on her own?
She did indeed just sit up, congratulations! And I find with kids it is far easier to let them find their own way to sit up again. However, one thing you can do is keep the camera nearby; because sometimes when its least expected, your baby will sit up.

Treating Baby Cold – Things To Do If Baby Catches Cold
Your baby will at some point get a cold and you will want to do what’s best for baby and you. To stop the infection from getting any worse you will need to stop any discomfort by providing plenty of fluids and rest. If your baby is under four months old you need to ensure they get enough breast or formula milk; older babies can have some water, or if they have reached the age of six months, they can also have drink fruit juices.
Congestion can be relieved by purchasing over-the-counter saline solution drops which can be put into the baby’s nostrils, then by using a rubber bulb syring after a while, you can suction to remove any mucus and liquid. If you do this fifteen minutes before a feed, your baby will find it easier to breathe nasally while they are being nursed. To reduce irritation apply some petroleum jelly (vaseline) around the outside of baby’s nostrils.
You can also comfort your baby with a humidifier or cool-mist vapouriser in their room which will help provide some relief, or you can sit with him in a steamy bathroom for about fifteen minutes. This can be done by turning on the hot water in a shower. They may also get some comfort from having a warm bath.
If your baby has a runny nose, it may help to lay them at a slight incline whilst they are sleeping. You should not use any pillows at all to help with this, due to the great risk of suffocation. Instead, you should place some rolled up towels between the mattress and crib, or you could try letting your baby sleep in a car seat which can be slightly put into an upright position.
If your child is less than three months old, when they become ill you should immediately contact your paediatrician, especially they have a fever of 100.4 degrees or develops a cough. You will get advice and guidelines from the paediatrician about what can cause a fever in older babies. You should also get in touch with your paediatrician if the symptons persist for more than five to seven days, if the cough gets worse, if he wheezes or gasps (this could indicate pneumonia or RSV, Respiratory Syncytial Virus). Tugging at the ear could be signs of an ear infection, so immediate medical intervention is necessary.
