Travel advice for 4 month old?

My 4 month old is only happy in her car seat for about 30 minutes no matter what we try. She won’t sleep in it either. We are attempting to travel 2.5 hours to visit family (and 2.5 hours back). Any ideas? We’ve tried toys, chews, pacifiers, soft music, and me sitting in the back with her. We even help her get to sleep (deep sleep) and then put her in the car seat, but she wakes up within 20 minutes furious at being in the car seat. The straps aren’t too tight either.
We always have the car seat inside so it’s not cold. She won’t sleep in her car seat, even if it’s her bedtime. She’ll just cry…

You may just have to deal with it.

My son was the exact same way until about 4 months. He HATED his car seat. Our families lived 3-5 hours away too, so we visited frequently. We tried all the tricks too and nothing worked. So we dealt with it. If he got hysterical we would get off on the exit, take him out for a couple minutes, and soothe him. It took us longer to get to our destination but it made the trip a bit easier.
