car seat qualifications
Which new car makes should I consider with the following qualifications?

I’m hoping to get a new car over the summer to bring back to college with me (live in a metropolitan area, go to school in a rural area). I’d want the following things in my car (yes, a car, not a van or truck, etc):

5 seats
4 door
automatic transmission
anti-lock brakes
reliable, safe
good gas mileage

What are car makes (please don’t give me just Ford, or just Toyota, etc…) that fall under these qualifications? Are there any other important things I should consider (nothing aesthetic like leather seats, or anything like horsepower)?

Thanks
I guess I did forget a couple things: I’d like a new car, and nothing too expensive (should be a good value).

You forgot an important factor… budget.

Car Valet

Car valets will help keep your car clean – inside and out.

From polishing the body work to shining up the seats, they will be there, cloth in hand, ready to offer service with a smile.

The nature of each cleaning job they do depends on what the individual customer wants, but their usual tasks and activities will include:

l  Promoting their service to prospective customers.

l  Checking over the vehicle concerned to make an assessment of what exactly needs to be done.

l  Clearing debris, such as dirt, grime, leaves and ceased to be insects from the bodywork, windscreen and windows.

l  Washing over the exterior of the vehicle with suitable cleaning agents.

l  Cleaning all tyres and wheels.

l  Clearing mud and debris from wheel arches and mud flaps.

l  Rinsing off, drying, buffing up and polishing up the bodywork.

l  Cleaning the interior surfaces with appropriate cleaning materials, cloths and brushes.

l  Using a vacuum cleaner inside the car.

l  Applying shampoo to the carpet, seats and lining.

l  Cleaning and polishing windows.

l  Steam cleaning engines.

l  Replacing mud flaps, skirts and spoilers.

l  Undertaking quality inspections.

l  Blackening tyres.

l  Answering customers’ questions and enquiries.

l  Collecting and returning the vehicle to the customer.

Car valets use specialist tools and equipment to carry out their work, including vacuum cleaners, brushes, cloths, steam and pressure washers, vacuums, brushes and buffers.

They are good at having an all around knowledge of different type of vehicles, will be aware of safety issues and be prepared to get wet often in the course of their work.

Starting salaries are usually around £12000 a year.  Working hours can be up to 40 hours per week, Mon to Fri, but weekend and evening working is required to make sure customers have their vehicles in good time.

Formal qualifications are not needed, and most training is given on the job by experienced valets.  A driving licence would also be handy!

Vacancies are advertised in motor trade publications, local and regional newspapers, relevant websites, and also by Job Centre Plus and recruitment agencies.
