If everyone was forced to learn to properly install a car seat before they were allowed to make babbies…?
would there be nearly as many people in the world?
What I’m trying to say is that my demon is almost 6 and the hardest thing I’ve had to do as a parent, so far, is install his car seat. As a matter of fact, I had to remove said car seat the other day and I refuse to put it back in. We’re just going to walk everywhere from now on. There’s a Dairy Queen, a Publix (the best grocery store on the planet) and a Pet Supermarket in walking distance from our humble abode so it’s cool.
About a year and a half ago I somehow didn’t buckle the seat belt all the way in, and when I made a sharp turn into the store parking lot my kid went flying across the backseat and ended up upside down at a 45 degree angle still in her car seat. I made the mistake of telling the Geek about it, and now whenever she does something of questionable intelligence (but no doubt typical for a 3 year old) I get reminded of how I endangered our child and possibly destroyed brain cells and now she’ll never be a surgeon.
