car seat stain removal?
I was able to remove a nicotine spot on the back seat of my new car. I now have a LIGHT (not white) spot around the area i rubbed. I have a light grey (maybe silver) interior. I used 1) Soft toothbrush 2) cold water and hot water 3) touch of baking soda 4) touch of alcohol 5) some dish soap. It does not look like i damaged the fibers, but the fabric has texture lines. I dont know if i damaged the lines rubbing and brushing and this is causing the lightness or what? Or will the fabric lines bounce back (and the full color come back) if i stop rubbing it for a couple of days. Up close the interior fabric ACTS like velour-you rub it one way and it turns light. You rub it the opposite and the color comes back. But on the spot i cleaned the lightness is holding.
Try cleaning the entire seat with some carpet stain remover. I have used Resolve spray on car seats with great results. If the light spot remains, it’s possible the nicotine or one of the other cleaners removed the dye from the fabric in that spot.
