travel car seat options
Car seat and stroller separate or travel system?

We’re expecting our daughter in August, and I’m trying to decide which would be best for us, a travel system or just a separate car seat and stroller… I don’t want anything large and bulky.

Can anyone tell me what they liked and/or did not like about either option? I was thinking about purchasing them separately, since I could use the car seat longer, and I don’t think I’d ever really need to have the carseat on the stroller when the baby is an infant, since I’ll just use a wrap for walks or trips to stores. But this is my first child, so it’s all a learning experience for me!

Thanks! :)

we LOVE our Peg Perego carseat/stroller combo. We have their standard carseat and the Aria OH stroller. They are made in Italy, very very durable, and extremely easy to maneuver. The carseat is just a regular carseat, but the stroller is the best. It is so light and easy. the carseat clips into it. The OH stands for “one hand” because that is all you need to open it, close it, and lift it into the car. You literally do it while holding the baby on your hip. So together, it’s like a big travel system, but more compact and easy to transport.

some people really like those rolling car seat frames, like snap and go, but the problem there is that once they outgrow the carseat, you need another stroller. the peg perego stroller is big enough for a four or five year old.

good luck and enjoy your little one!

World Cup gives South Africa chance to show it’s got game
It might be hard for Chicagoans to believe right now, but there is another cup besides the Stanley one. The FIFA World Cup — the biggest sporting event on the planet — kicks off Friday in South Africa. The tournament, which runs through July 11, marks the first time soccer’s showcase showdown will take place on African soil.
