britax car seat instructions

I installed my Britax Marathon, facing the rear, but my back seats are angled, so it needed a rolled towel,?

Thats how the instructions say to do it, but with the rolled towel I cant get the seatbelt tight enouph so the car seat wont wiggle.
And yes I did recline the car seat itself, so don’t tell me that’s why it looked like it wasnt reclined enouph and probably didn’t need a towel, I did read the instructions so don’t try to make me look like an idiot.
I would take it to have it installed by the fire department, but I still have to take it in to the hospital so I can bring my baby home in it. I will probably do that after he is born, then never take it out.

You don’t need to be using the seatbelt at all if you’re using the LATCH in the rear facing position. You don’t need to seat belt it in until your child hits 48 lbs and is forward facing. I’ve noticed that most new carseats don’t really work with older cars that well because of the exact issues you mention. Obviously, I’m not saying to go out and get a new car, just that I understand. Go get a Mighty Tite to help you tighten it, but you should also be sitting in the seat itself when you’re putting it in. I wouldn’t use a towel, I’d go buy a pool noodle and cut it or go to Babies R Us–they sell a version of it just for leveling a car seat. Then, take the new item(s), your carseat, and your car to the police station and have them install the seat and you won’t have any issues.
