car seat latch cover
Need to find 2 of the smallest car seats and the smallest booster for a set of 2-3 yr twins and a 4 yr old.?
My loving husband just totaled our minivan. No one was hurt now we need to find the smallest car seats and booster to fit inside a car, since we can not afford to buy another van. We are looking at buying a Chevy Impala with 3 sets of latch systems in the back. Hope someone has ideas on what to get. The twins are about 30lbs and the 4yr old is about 39lbs. Money is very tight since we owe $10,000 on the van and are looking at only getting between $6,000 to $7,000 back. A word of warning get the gap insurance it is only about $500 and as you can see can save you thousands. Insurance says that they will cover the cost of replacing the car seats since the kids were in them at the time of the accident but I am not holding my breath. Please we are desperate for answers. Please I need personal experience if at all possible. Thank you all very much for all your answers.
Well, not great for being budget friendly, but Radians are great for 3 across installs. If you do a search for Sunshine Kids Radian 65 or 80, you should be able to find some for under $200. Both rear face to 40 lbs, the 65 forward faces to 65 lbs and the 80 to 80lbs. The newer models (SL’s which rear face to 45lbs) range up to $300. They insurance should *have* to cover the cost of the seats that were damaged. So depending on what seats you had in there and what they go for, it should offset a lot of the cost.
There are many other seats/seat combinations that would work in 3 across installs, Radians are just probably the easiest, most likely to get an easy 3 across. If you go to http://www.car-seat.org and post, you should get lots of good info. The boards are frequented by many experienced and knowledgeable car seat techs.
