i am trying to find a book i read in 3rd or 4th grade,please help!?

i read a book in 3rd or 4th grade from my school library once and i fell in love with it,but…i forgot the title of it and the plot…i remember though that my school librarian told me the book was not in my age range and that it was for older children but i decided to read it anyway and also the cover had a girl in her car with a hand over mouth and she had her eyes wide open and looked scared because the person’s hand came from the back seat as if someone broke into her car before she got into her car…please help me because i would love to read the book again during the summer..the book is not that old because im in 7th grade now and i read it in 3rd or 4th grade…thank you!!

I have a feeling I read it last year in 5th grade. its on the tip of my tongue!!!!!!
