does it matter the age to change the babys car seat?
mt baby is bout to be ten months but his baby car seat is gettn a little to small for him. hes tight in it very uncomfortable. he weights about 28 pds very tall so his feet really stick out bad… lol! can i move him to the bigger car seat already??
Not legally!
Yes you can move him…BUT that could KILL him, if heaven forbid there was an accident.
Standard is 12 months AND 20lbs.
They are now saying keep them in rear facing seats till age 4, because of neck injuries/deaths.
I have a 4 year old almost 15 month old, and almost 3 month old.
We put our oldest in a front facing seat at 12 months, (in 2005 they didn’t know that that was dangerous!)
We put our almost 15 month old front facing at 14 months, because his legs looked cramped. BUT we are going to buy a new seat abd put him back rear facing because of the latest research. (worth the money to us…you’re only talking 100 dollars)
Of course our almost 3 month old is rear facing, and will continue to be for as long as possible.
Look up “crash tests for infants” on YuTube….theird necks can’t take a high speed (40mph) impact…it can kill them.
I didn’t know that with my first, but I refuse to take a chance with my other 2 kids…the “chump change” is worth their life….on the scale of things.
