What is the average age of a baby who weighs around 20-22 lbs?
Any idea?
I’m curious because I’m already eight months pregnant and I would like to know how long this brand new baby car seat is going to be of any use to us.

Very few children actually make it to 20-22lbs in an infant seats. Most outgrow it by height first. An infant seat is outgrown when a child reaches the weight limit OR they have less than one inch of plastic shell above their heads.
My daughter outgrew her 26 inch/20lbs weight limit infant seat by height at 6 months. The newer 29inch/22lb limit seats last children a little bit longer.
Infants then move to a rearfacing (RF) convertible seats and MUST remain RF until at least 1 year AND 20lbs, but should remain RF until the limits of the seat (30-35lbs in the US).
