Traveling with young kids?

My husbands parents, my parents, my husband and I and our four girls are flying down to disney world. I was just wondering for our two year old if we should take her car seat or leave it at home. She will be 3 yrs old when we go. She is in a convertible car seat that is still rear facing right now. But her car seat is 18inches wide and the air line person I talked to said the seats are 14 or 15inches wide.

Look up the brand of the seat online. If it says FAA approved, then that means that it will fit the seats. Measuring the top of the seat and/or across the middle doesn’t count. It’s got to be the base. But, again, if it says approved for FAA use, then you can take it on the plane and it will fit. If it’s too wide, it won’t be approved. If you give the brand and model of the seat, I can tell you if it’ll fit.

EDIT: I looked at Florida’s safety seat laws and it states 4 years AND 40 lbs before a booster can be used, so she won’t be old enough for the booster. Definitely bring your seat.
The other poster is right–at age 3, she is too old to be considered approved for lap riding. She needs a separate seat purchased for her.

If I were you, I’d save the Comfort Sport for one of your 3 youngest and get your oldest either the Graco Nautilus or the Britax Frontier. Both will hold her to 100 lbs and are FAA approved. That way, if one has outgrown the infant seat, you’ll have a backup.
