2004 Sentra with Karr 2040a security system. Remote will not open passenger doors? ?
I have a 2004 Nissan Sentra with a Karr 2040a car alarm system. The problem I have with it is that the remote will only lock/unlock the driver door, not the passenger doors. Also, the trunk release button doesn’t work, but apparently that should only work if you have an electronic trunk release and I don’t know if I do or not. There’s a lever under my seat so I think it might be mechanical.
Does anyone know how to get the passenger doors to open with this thing?
also… I dont know much about car alarms…. but can I take out the Karr alarm system and still be able to lock and unlock doors? is the Karr system whats keeping all 4 from locking or unlocking? I dont really care about having an alarm…
on some key pads you have to hit the button more than once or it only opens the driver side, try hitting the button 2 or 3 times and see if that helps other than that im not sure

The Nissan Sentra offers various safety features including: anti-lock brakes, side airbags, passenger air bag on-off switch, clutch interlock, front disc/rear drum brakes, steel side-door guard beams, zone body construction with front and rear crumple zones, hood deformation point, front seatbelt pretensiors with adjustable upper anchorages and load limiters, 3 -point ELR driver seatbelt, 3-point ELR/ALR seatbelts for passenger seating positions, passenger window lockout, active adjustable front head restraints, energy absorbable steering column, child seat anchorages in rear outboard seating positions, and a traction control system. The vehicle also offers a dynamic control system.

Since I owned the car, it has stalled on me twice while driving. Apart from general maintenance, this car has given me very reliable service. My point of view, this car is a very good car. Fuel economy is excellent, comfort is pretty good and it gets me around to where I want to go inexpensively.
