safest car seat placement

Question about car seat placement/installation?
I am 36 weeks pregnant tomorrow and thought I should get the car seat put in the car now, just because you never know
But anyways, we drive 2005 Honda CRV and because of how the middle seat is, there is no way a car seat could safely be installed there. I have tried 3 different seats of mine and my friends and none could be properly secured in the middle. They can be properly secured on the outside seats, but we have side curtain airbags, is that safe?
I thought I was familur with the CRV, guess not or maybe the seats were dramaticlly changed from the years I worked with them! I never had a problem installing seats in the center, but they were older (2000-2003) and newer (2007-2009) CRVs.
What I would do is call Honda and ask them if the side airbags will be dangerous for a car seat. (I would imagine so) And ask if there is a way to deactivate it. Also call the car seat manufacturer and see what their take is on the safety aspect of their seat with the side airbags. An infant carrier with the handle down (IF you can have it down with you model of seat) might be low enough the air bag would miss it. Definittly call around to see what the manufactures think. You can also find a car seat tech in your area that can help you with the install of your seat, just to be sure it’s right, no matter where you decide to place it.
