car seats laws nsw
Does anybody know the laws on fitting seatbelts to cars which dont have them already?
I have car which only has seatbelts in the front, which are not retracting. It has no seatbelts in the back. The car hasn’t actually been registered so i need to go and get a blue slip (NSW).
Does anybody know if i need to install retracting seatbelts in all seats or just the front. I live in NSW Australia. Cheers!
Aweosme thanks for that, i forgot to mention i’m 17 which means i’m on my “provisional” license. Not sure if that makes a difference
Sorry, just my best guess but if the laws are like the states then the car is “grandfathered” in by any regulations regarding seatbelts if it wasn’t original installed on the equipment.
For example if you drive a 1940 Ford, then you are not required to wear seatbelts in them because they were not originally an option on the vehicle.
Sorry I can’t be much help with NSW laws.
Everyone understands the tax – differently
No wonder the federal government needs an advertising campaign to explain the mining super profits tax if Keith Cleland’s letter (May 31) reflects the understanding of the general population. The tax is on excess profits. The mining companies only pay it on profits that exceed a predetermined Treasury benchmark.
