Couldn’t cars be much safer so 40,000 deaths a year can be prevented? What about?
with inflatable bumpers on all sides? Seat belts could be like those race car ones. And we could wear helmets and soft padded suits/fireproof. 40,000 americans die a year from car accidents…about the same that died from all ten years of the vietnam war. Why aren’t people super alert and proactive about this like bird flu or aids? I mean we don’t have to take all the above measures, but I would think people would cherish life more and do SOMETHING drastic about it… I mean someone you love taking that kind of risk every day. doesn’t that pull your heart strings a little? I think all of us have had some experience or known someone with injuries with cars. It’s ridiculously risky isnt it?
could you imagine everytime you had to go down to the shops having to put on a complete fire suit just to go like 10 mins down the road, also what about the school run, trying to get the kids to put on a crash helmet and suit. it is not practical. but i do agree with what you are saying, i think that i good idea would be to put a sensor on a car on all sides, and if the car gets to near an object then it cuts the engine and puts the brakes on. also i think that the whole windscreen could be made into a night vision HUD, so it would be much easier for the driver to see where they are going and stuff, i reckon it would be a good idea for there to be an actual sensor in the driver seat that can detect if the driver has been drinking and if they had, then the engine don’t work. i know you get get them but they are really bulky and you can see them im talking about on you couldn’t see and try to fool, by letting someone else breath on it.
