toddler car seat positioning

How can I encourage my toddler not to kick the back of my seat in the car?
My son is almost three and we have a pt cruiser in which he sits pretty close up in his toddler seat and he generally likes to kick the back of our seats. I have tried moving him to the middle of the car, with no luck he can’t reach to kick the drivers seat but can still kick the passenger seat. For me it’s no big deal because I tend to sit with the seat in the upright position but it is driving my husband crazy. How can i encourage him to not kick the back of our seats?
He’s old enough to stop because you tell him to. It sounds like you are being inconsistent…it doesn’t bother you because you drive with the seat in a different position, so you don’t have to bother with having him stop.
Kids need some consistency. Explain to him that it distracts the driver and can cause an accident and he’d feel pretty bad if your car had a crash and everyone got hurt.
You can’t let him get away with it even one time… or he will fail to learn that it not okay. He needs some consequence that is meaningful to him if he fails to comply. Whether that is taking a away a toy, giving him a spanking, or not allowing him to do something he enjoys… only you know what works.
