Infant car seat ?? Do you have to use the base or is it still safe to use just the seat and buckle it in. ?

The car seat came with directions for both ways. Just wondering if anyone does not use the base.

If the instructions say you can, then it is safe to do so, though much more of a pain, since it means installing/uninstalling the seat each and every time you use it. Its just as safe as long as you do it exactly right 100% of the time – that is where the base can make a difference, since you install it once and leave it there, there’s less risk of it being istalled incorrectly in a hurry one time. Not all infant seats can be used without the base.
