Buzzing sound underneath back seat of 87 prelude?
I have an 87 prelude si 2nd generation and have just taken out the rear seat bench. When the car is on there is a noticeable buzzing sound coming from underneath the rear seat (right rear passenger). Upon closer inspection there is a wire that run about 10 inches from one end to another end and it is on the frame of the car on the back bench where the cushion on the right rear passenger. When I put my finger on one end of the wire it muffles the sound drastically but returns immediately after releasing it. What the heck is this connection and what is this buzzing sound?. It seems like there’s definitely something mechanical going on right under the frame which seems accessible only underneath the car. what’s going on and how to fix it? thanks
that is the wires that go to the electric fuel pump that is mounted inside the gas tank. when you first turn the key on you should here it but it should be silent after that sounds like your fuel pump is going bad might be time to change it, i think on that car it has a access panel to take the fuel pump out without removing gas tank, makes the job a whole lot easier.
