car seat table
must haves for when you bring baby home?
my baby shower isnt scheduled until my 36th week of pregnancy and my mom thinks that i should wait until after it to buy anything that i might need and dont get, but i would really like to be more prepared than that. this is my husband’s and my first child, so its not like we have any supplies from a previous child. what we have so far are the bigger esentials-car seat, crib, changing table. can i get some opinions on what else i should definetely go ahead and buy before the shower?

1. When you think you have enough crib sheets, buy at least 3 more.
2. When you think you have enough receiving blankets and burp clothes, buy more.
3. always have an extra box of wipes around. Whenever you think you have enough until you go to the store again, there will be a major explosion.
4. Socks disappear like magic. You probably should get more of them too.
5. They do start getting a bit bored at about a month old. You want something they can gaze at that will keep their attention. My son was fascinated by a bold green and white striped pillow case and was content if it was within view. My nephews preferred to slide under a black white and red baby gym. You should have something that will capture baby’s attention.
6. Don’t worry about bottle warmers or wipe warmers. Even diaper genies tend to go by the wayside after a few months.
7. You know those plastic mats that you slide under baby’s bottom for diaper changes? One usually comes in a diaper bag. You should keep one in the car, one in the bag and another for just in case.
8. Don’t stock up too much on new born size diapers, but maybe get a spare pack of the next size up. Again, if you look and think that you have enough to get by until you go to the store – major explosions are looming. Never fails.
9. Don’t forget to stock up on something for yourself as well. Mommies need care and pampering too.
