baby car seat requirements

baby car seat requirements
moving baby from infant carrier to next stage carseat….?

does anyone know what the requirements are to move your child up to the next car seat from the infant carrier. he is 8 mons, 18 pounds and close to 30 inches long… i think he is getting too big for the carrier. i’m gonna research it a little more too.. just curious if anyone knew right off?

29.5 inches is usually the longest a baby should be in an infant carrier, so you are right, he is getting too big for it. You would go to a convertible carseat from there. We used the Britax Roundabout and love it. That carseat can be used rear-facing from 5lb – 35 lb and up to 35 inches. Then it turns around for use as a front facing car seat for a toddler up to 40 inches I believe.

EDIT: remember, he needs to remain rear-facing until he is both 12 months of age AND at least 20 lbs.
