Was There An Exemption In The Budget For People Who Drive 4X4s Because They Have To…?
Farmers need to drive them, as do a lot of people who live in the countryside where the roads aren’t really up for supporting a Toyota Prius, do they get an exemption? What about those people who have a reduced carbon footprint because they don’t fly off for foreign holidays, but who need a 4X4 to pull their caravans. Do they get an exemption? I don’t think so. These so called gas guzzlers consume more petrol/diesel, ergo, they pay more in tax. I don’t think that the Government are interested in fairness on this one, first they demonise, then they tax more. The politics of envy works every time.
