Did you use an infant carrier car seat with your newborn, or did you go right to a convertible car seat?
With our 3rd child, we only used the infant carrier for 2 months and then decided to just buy a convertible car seat. Luckily the infant car seat was from his brother, so it wasn’t a waste of money. I’m thinking for the next baby we might just get a convertible car seat instead of the infant one. What’d you use?
I haven’t read up on car seat safety in a few months, but the last I read back in September said that babies shouldn’t be left in the infant carriers when they are not in the car because it restricts the oxygen flow.
I only have one child but if I had known better, I would have went straight to the convertible seat too. He hated the infant seat (I fell for the “travel system” scheme.) Not only did he hate it but he was too big for it by 4 months old! I didn’t even truly need a stroller until he was about 6 months old either. He always wanted to be near me so I had an Ergo carrier on all the time.
I’d say go for the convertible.
