My baby is 6 months old & weighs 21 pounds, should she move from an infant car seat?

My baby is 6 months & already weighs 21 pounds. She is tall, not fat at all. What kind of car seat should she be riding in? I read infant seats have a weight limit of 22 pounds, and she’s almost to it. She has a rear-facing infant seat now, but after that 22 pound mark, should she switch to a different car seat & if so, which kind? I got one today from someone & it has a 20-40 pound weight limit. Is this a toddler seat, or a convertible seat?? It says it can be rear-facing & forward facing.

She should be in a convertible toddler seat in the infant recline position facing backwards.
