In order to start my 95 maxima I have to push the clutch practically through the floor. What is the problem?
The clutch works fine when driving. It pushes down very easy like normal when starting the car. But once it is fully depressed I then have to wedge myself against the seat and continue to push with all my strength to get the engine to turn over. Now my husband has to do it because I’m not strong enough. I have looked behind the pedal and everything seems normal. Can somebody please tell me what I need to do?
it could be low transmission fluid.. or a problem with the starter motor.. could also just be the clutch cable itself.. if its loosened and the clutch is worn enough then it will still work when you’re driving but the car won’t have enough power to turn over when you try start it… does it idle low or shake when you’re stationary in gear?
